And God said, Let there be a region of clouds in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the region of clouds, and divided the waters which were under the region of clouds from the waters which were above the region of clouds: and it was so. And God called the region of clouds sky.

And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was Night and there was Daylight, the Second Day. Genesis 1:6-8

Explanation

The sky is the region of clouds. The clouds may be moving or still. As the ground contains various types of natural resources, including solid, liquid and gaseous minerals, even so the clouds contain various things, both physically and spiritually, which are very important.

The clouds reduce the brightness of the sunlight reaching the earth, so that humanity can live comfortably here on earth. The clouds helps in the movement and distribution of rainfalls.

As there is traffic control on the roads, even so angels control the movement of the clouds, to prevent traffic jam and unco-ordinated movements.

The region of clouds, sky, is what is called firmament in some versions of the bible.
